As a member of our program management team, you will play a critical role in bringing our clients’ next generation products to market in the consumer, industrial, virtual reality, and medical markets.
What you’ll do:
As a Technical Project Manager at Optimal Design, a Deloitte business, you will:
- Collaborate with customers from requirements gathering through product acceptance, running weekly client calls and weekly status update
- You will operate as the face of the project to the client and establish a positive working relationship
- Drive project/program tasks to completion in accordance with the project schedule
- Manage all technical engineering and design activities throughout complete product development cycle
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional team (ID, ME, EE, RF, SW) to track milestones and coordination of program deliverables
- Manage milestones, goals (e.g., cost, budget, quality, timing) and decisions to ensure on time delivery of project goals
- Assess project status, constraints, risk, and provide recommended corrective actions/mitigation plans
- Identify potential change of scope issues as they arise and communicate them to the team, account management, and the client
- Document all decisions and track action items
Who We’re Looking For
An ideal candidate has the following skills:
- BS in Engineering
- 10+ years experience in product development (preferably physical hardware products)
- 3+ years experience in project management, product management, or leading an engineering team.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams (e.g. industrial design, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and software development)
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience managing project budgets and resource plans
- Understanding of system engineering and mechanical/electrical/software design processes and techniques
- Familiarity with and/or interest in consulting environments and how they work
