ISS came to Optimal with a revolutionary touchscreen technology which measures hemoglobin levels in body tissue in a simple and non-invasive way. The concept required a housing that would efficiently encase all mechanisms, as well as offer protection for the device’s delicate sensors used to collect critical data from patients’ tissue. Our ID team delivered a fresh design that manages the sensor cords when in use and when stored. Additional features, such as a drawer for the calibrator, were integrated due to user research. A working prototype was then carefully engineered to make efficient use of space, allowing the device to be as compact as possible while maintaining its clean, hospital friendly feel.
